Meeting recap 11/30

Hello wonderful CSF members,

Happy December! Thank you to all of you who came to the meeting, and for those of you who were not able to make it, we hope this recap helps.

We have quite a few new events for December! The first one is Build a Bike! It is an event we're partnering with Interact for! You will be building bikes for needy children.

It is tomorrow on Friday, December 2, 2016. There is NO FORMAL SIGN-UP NEEDED, and there will be a SIGN-IN SHEET AT THE EVENT, which is the only way we’ll know if you go or not. It is AT SCHOOL in the STUDENT UNION from 3:30 - 5:30 PM and there will be music and snacks for sale! :) I have attached the official flyer. For further questions, ask Kevin Hom, and I (Jenny) will be volunteering tomorrow as well.

The second event we have is the Kids Against Hunger Packing event!

When: Thursday, December 8th 4:15 to 5:45 PM, but arrive by 4:00 PM for registration

What: Packing nutritious meals for children in need (Very fun event!)

How: Fill out Google Form http://goo.gl/forms/rV4FPiollOytO6Z02 and turn in packing fee ($15) into Student Activities by Tuesday, December 6th (at the latest) or club meeting on Thursday December 1st. All money goes straight to the hundreds of meals you'll be packing!

Where:1258 Quarry Lane #H Pleasanton

If you sign up, you MUST come, or let KAH know if you are not coming by emailing dhskidsagainsthunger@gmail.com (no refund!). There will be rides (indicate need for a ride on form).

The third event we have is mostly ongoing, and ends Thursday, November 8, 2016. It is mainly self-paced, and very festive. You will be making stockings! CSF members can make holiday stockings that will passed out in San Francisco to homeless people. Stockings should include toiletries and other essentials, including socks.

It is highly suggested that people go to Dollar Tree to purchase items to assemble the stockings, because it is cheap! You can make as many stockings you they want to donate and this will count as one CSF event, as well as service hours. If you make one, email a photo to us at dublinhighhcsf@gmail.com. You can email Maddie Williamson at madelinewmson@yahoo.com to find a good time to send them in. I have attached a photo of some stocking ideas.

We also have a BIG event we are planning! This is a CSF event that we are bringing back this year. It is the CSF Garage Sale/Bake Sale!

We will be donating every single penny that is made at the event. It is open to the community, parents, siblings, and all students in DUSD. The event has three organizing committees: the Bake Sale committee, Garage Sale and Planning committee, and the Technology/Publicity Committee.

We will be choosing leaders, or what we will call a Director for each committee. That individual will be in charge of planning and will report to two of the officers. For the Bake Sale, the officers are Jenny and Sruthi. For the Garage Sale, the officers are Preethi and Vinootna. For Technology/Publicity, the officers are James and Shayan. Being a volunteer in this event will count as a CSF event, and being a Director will also count as an event! Don't miss out on this great opportunity.

The location of the event will definitely be DHS. The time and dates are to be determined. We had a poll to see which date would work best for event, but we need your help! PLEASE FILL IT OUT!
